Easiest way is to insert the device, right click on it in your My Computer window, and choose format. THAT WILL ERASE EVERYTHING PERMANENTLY! So use it with caution.

I've asked everyone this, but either they don't know or haven't tried it out, but can iPod (the video one) be used as a memory stick or flash drive? I.e. Can I put my homework on there, so just files and folders I don't want sitting in my desktop PC? Thanks.

It is only about 8 months old. Have been keeping stuff on it and deleting as little as possible, thinking this would prolong its life. So should you keep as little on as possible to prolong its life?
It's formatted as vfat, so file allocation table must get written to a lot - buggering it. If I made a lot of partitions on it, each would have their own allocation table, would they? And if one partition got buggered I could change to another - lengthening the drive's life??

I dowloaded a video and i to my flash stick because im not an administrator on this computer. And i want to take it up to my laptop. So i was wondering can someone please give me a link where i can download some type of software where you can make files smaller. The file i am trying to put on my flash stick is 275 MB and my flash stick is 256 Please provide a link, 10 points : )

I just ordered an adapter which lets me use a memory stick pro duo in my Sony A300 Compact Flash slot and I was wondering if that would affect my speed in recording pictures at all (in comparison to directly using a Compact Flash that is).
