I Tried To Format My Mmc Card By Removing Password In Nokia 7610, But It Said “memory Card Not Inserted”. Why?

Is this corrupted my card OR any other hardware problem? I can see the file and folders, but can't create new one either by using phone or memory card reader. However new applications can be installed through Nokia PC suit. Can anyone help me to format this card.
