In Recovering Deleted Files Fr A Compact Flash Card, Do U Get To Recover All Files Or Just The Newly Deleted?
I wanted to know if ALL files can be recovered from a CF card or just the ones which were recently deleted.

CF card, a microdrive refuses to work, but has photos stored on it. Has been shaked, and has a small rattling sound. Is there anyway to recover the images?

Not all of them. The new ones you shot overwrote some of the old "lost" files.
Stop using that card and use a second one until you can download Rescue3 from Lexar (about $35) and start the recovery process. You will need to use the card reader on your computer and if you don't have one, buy a 2.0 USB card reader ... trying to recover images from your camera, runs the risk of battery failure which will really make it hard to recover your images

After inserting my SD card from my digital camera into my laptop, a ''card error'' message appeared followed by a ''format to continue'' message. I then formatted my memory card, which wiped off all my pictures. Is it possible to recover my images as I am now completely distraught after losing so many images?

I have a Kingston Technology 2GB "Elite Pro" 50x speed CompactFlash card that died half-way through my vacation, I basically want to know if there is any way I can recover the photos (from my sister's wedding) that are on the card.
I have a Minolta Dynax/Maxxum 5D, and while using it in this camera it stopped working for no apparant reason - I took photos in the morning no problem, I turn the camera on an hour or so later to snap some more and it tells me that it can't read the card, and asks if I want to format it.
I've tried it in a Canon Digital Rebel XT - the camera won't turn on with this CF card inserted. I've tried it in a couple of other digital cameras that report read errors and so won't access the contents. I've tried a few card readers on my PC, but none of them will let Windows 'see' that a card has been inserted.
I've since filled a number of other CF cards without issue, and so the camera is not at fault.

I know that when you delete a picture on your camera, the file isn't actually deleted until you write over it with another picture. I haven't taken any pictures since I deleted the picture I wanted.

I have an XD card and a compact flash card. They were only used once and accidentally formatted. How can you get back the pictures?

I did take a bunch of pictures and videos right after I deleted them because I thought they were already uploaded to my computer. I'm also using a MAC so I was looking for a recovery software that would work for macs.
