As the ability to store on smaller space becomes greater.
Do you think that harddisks will become obsolete and be replaced with 250 - 1tb of flash memory?

Maybe not flash memory per say, but certainly some kind of alternative memory. Solid state memory is quickly overtaking hard drives the way yhe overtook disks and tape memory which had overtaken punchcards(oversimplified, I know) Maybe before flash completely takes over something else that is better will be designed. Computers are about progress and constant change. PS: This is already starting to happen. Many of the ultra portable laptops are already using solid state memory to save on space, cut down moving parts and make them lighter.

Absolutely! There are a few on the market already. They are intended to be used as networked workstations, running apps on a server, but they boot entirely from flash memory and don’t have any hard drives at all. It’s only a matter of time (1-2 years) before the preice/performance curve falls in favor of flash over HDD.

someday, mostly in notebooks; Solid state drives of 64 gb is nearly 1000$… absolutly no noise, no start-up delay, less power needed, and a faster reading speed for non-constant data on the drive (i mean faster “seeking”)

Of course some day it will as the are able to make them cheaper and smaller.

I would think that as technology gets more advanced and equipment gets smaller.. im sure that will take place

Already done in the MacBook Air. You have the option of a Hard drive or solid state.

I hope so! Solid State Drives are superior.
